As a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, I seek to develop a sustainable Strengths-based culture within organizations, through specialized training and development of high performing staff and leadership teams. Also, to coach career clients and inspire them to identify, own and embrace their Strengths as they utilize them to reach their ultimate career destinations.
Ms. Mendez is a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach who brings over 20 years of career and professional development for teams around strengths, increasing employee engagement, developing Strengths-based leadership, and initiating and designing sustainable employee engagement focused Strengths-based programs for organizations like UC San Diego. Ms. Mendez speaks extensively on CliftonStrengths and has been a featured speaker for U.S. News and World Report, Univision, and National Association of Colleges and Employers. A few career clients that Ms. Mendez has served include University of California San Diego, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, Teradata, and Amazon.
Clients and audiences find Ms. Mendez storytelling captivating as she delivers compelling client and employer-based case studies to engage her audiences. She enjoys using humor and engages her clients in activities that inspire and motivate clients to strive for more through the utilization of their Strengths.
Outside of speaking, workshop facilitation and coaching, Ms. Mendez volunteers, writes, and presents for national professional organizations like Comic-Con International, NALA and NACE. She has been a featured expert career panelist for Young Women in Bio, Association for Women in Science, and National Association of Legal Assistants and Connected Women of Influence. Ms. Mendez has led high performing academic teams throughout the country and has developed and launched award winning professional academic/career programs for Savanah College of Art and Design, UC San Diego, San Francisco State University, Western Oregon University, California State University San Bernardino, City College of San Francisco, College of the Desert, and California State University, Sacramento.
In addition to her extensive career in academics and career coaching, she has an entrepreneurial spirit. Ms. Mendez is the San Diego Soar Evangelist and became part of the founding team for Soar.com—a Paul Allen company and founder of Ancestry.com.
Ms. Mendez holds a Master of Science in Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from San Francisco State University.
